Experience:
Its genesis is the St. Xavier Institute of Industry, established in 1963 to provide industry with competent human resources.

In 1971, it was re-named the Xavier Institute of Management (XIM) with a focus on redeveloping supervisory and management skills for working executives. XIMR has the DNA of the finest education and human values from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

The college has produced scientists, writers, artists, thinkers and, above all, leaders who have shaped the practice of management in organizations across the world. Inspired by St. Francis Xavier, the great saint and scholar whose name it bears, XIMR is enriched by the self-sacrificing spirit of the Jesuits of Mumbai, who like Jesuits across the world, work with dedication for "the greater glory of God".

Achievements:
‘Centre for Africa Studies’ CAS- inaugurated on January 10th, 2011, in association with Makerere University Business School. CAS was well attended by Rev Fr Anthonys.j., Provincial, Society of Jesus, Rev Fr. Arun s.j., Rector, XIMR, Rev. Fr. Orobator, Ps.j. Provincial Society of Jesus, East Africa, His Excellency, Mr. E. M. Barine, Deputy Commissioner, Republic of Kenya, Mr. R.
